Sun, moon and the earth....

What do these imply to us ? Technically speaking, we dwell in earth, sun is our source of energy (vitamin D) and a lots of it and moon we enjoy it during our evenings. This is an attempt to try to explore if there are any symbology in these. Do these planetary elements indicate us something ? Is there some hidden truth behind these elements ?

"Suryaha Prathyaksha Devatha"..a very famous sanskrit saying..which means Sun is the visible God. Thanks to our smart analytical brain, that we rightly interpreted this statement as given by people of older civilization, whom we think are not so scientifically advanced as us. In those days sun was the only source of energy, no nuclear power and other modern day techniques. The economy was grossly based on agriculture and Sun formed the essential element. The greeks and other old civilization hence rightly treated sun as god. The famous Appolo the Sud God of Troy.

The moon is the satellilte of earth. It reflects the rays of sun. The moon grows continously for fifteen days to form a full moon and slowly casts itself to shadows for the next fifteen days to form the no moon day.

Man is a manifestation of God. "Aham Brahmam", the ancient vedas says it. This is again emphasized by Adi Shankaracharya as "Jeevathama and Paramathma are same". Jeevathma refers to human being and paramathma refers to the divine.

If Sun symbolized god, then the moon a meagre reflection of the Sun can be sumbolized to human beings. We all are reflection of god, but our material desire which is symbolized by the earth hides us from knowing the fact. As the full moon shines, once we can get rid of the material desire, we can completely be one with God, but as material desire takes control, we diminish day by day till we become completely ignorant.....
